With just 24,592 verified miles from new, owner’s manual, service history and almost every MOT inspection on file, going all the way back to the early 1990’s, this Cairngorm Brown Range Rover Classic is a uniquely collectable example. 

 

First supplied to dealer HR Owen as a demonstrator vehicle and delivered to their Mayfair dealership on the first of August 1990, it was then sold to its first owner, and first registered, on the 31st of December 1990. Remarkably, It stayed in his hands for over 30 years until 2021.

 

Along with all MOT certificates, there is extensive service history and invoices during his 30 years of ownership to complement the owner’s manual. Serviced over these three decades without fail, but covering only a few hundred miles per year, the car’s first owner had an impressive collection of mainly British classic vehicles including Jaguars, Lotus’, Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

 

Following his death, it was acquired in 2021 by our client. It has since been part of his collection, but used frequently, in the Republic of Ireland (ROI), whilst maintaining its UK registration. It has not been formally imported into the ROI. 

 

In his ownership, the car has benefited from almost £15,000 of servicing and work by in most cases, marque specialists to keep it as original as possible and as presentable and well preserved as possible for the future. 

 

The paint is in excellent condition, especially when one considers that it is original. Cairngorm Brown (LRC 408) it must be stressed, is a very rare and desirable colour indeed and was available for a short time only from 1989 until 1991.  There are small signs that this is original paint and that the vehicle has not been resprayed such as minor stone chips to the bonnet, but overall, the paint is in remarkable condition after 33 years.

 

The interior is immaculate with the colour of the teddy bear seats complementing the exterior beautifully. The dash, seats, steering wheel, door cards and all areas of the interior present as though the car is months old rather than decades old. The rear seats are virtually unused and the front are as new. Both the seat foam is firm and the upholstery immaculate. A truly remarkable interior. The sliding and tilting sunroof operates well, as do all windows.

 

Turning the key, the engine sounds incredible upon startup and idle. The brand new, period correct exhaust system from the centre box to the intermediate pipe and rear silencer sound wonderful.

 

The car drives beautifully and the gear changes are smooth. It has just benefitted from a complete and thorough service conducted by ourselves in England including changing all oils/lubricants/filters where appropriate including engine, transmission, transfer box, differentials and brake lines, radiator. 

 

It drives, looks and feels like a new vehicle, belying its 33 years.
