It is a compelling tick box exercise in peak Range Rover. And that’s just the headlines.
The service history and demonstrable investment and care is the reassuring pairing one ought to look for beyond specification and aesthetics alone.
It is all too easy and indeed tempting, to be preoccupied with what is on the surface when one is hunting for the right classic or modern classic car.
In our 7 years of daily L322 use, of building a private collection across their 10 year production run, and of course, sourcing exceptional examples to then release back into the wild after indepth preventative works, we discount 90% of those available. It is all about aligning the stars which is now extremely difficult.
This particular example exemplifies every single aspect we aim for.
Beyond the aesthetics and specification, it is a vehicle which has been maintained well above normal service interval standards. A particular example of this from Land Rover Main Dealer paperwork notes an invoice for the 105,000 mile service interval which was conducted with the car on a mere 42,899 miles. Above and beyond capability matched with above and beyond maintenance.
Maintenance Intervals:
03/05/2011 - 9189 Miles
22/05/2012 - 14,960 Miles
23/05/2013 - 21,436 Miles
30/05/2014 - 26,770 Miles
03/03/2015 - 30,179 Miles
23/03/2016 - 37,493 Miles
16/03/2017 - 42,818 Miles
28/02/2019 - 52,075 Miles
02/10/2021 - 56,549 Miles
05/11/2022 - 65,008 Miles
11/11/2023 - 74,036 Miles
31/07/2024 - 75,890 Miles
17/10/2025 - 77,736 Miles
21/09/2026 - 84,705 Miles
Recent works help to explain just how well this example drives, particularly the front end.
A recent invoice for £1362.80 shows all new upper and lower front arms resulting in light and smooth handling and two new rear shock absorbers. It also is shod in a brand new set of our tyre of choice, the General Grabber AT3 with a 55 profile, giving a superb ride and excellent capability on and off piste.
Specifically on MOT history, AK10 OTL has an excellent record, and crucially, where it really matters on the L322; no advisories, defects or mentions whatsoever of rust to sills, jacking points, arches, body, or front or rear subframe which sadly on this model is becoming an ever more common issue and cumulatively can be very expensive to rectify.
We simply will not entertain the purchase or sale of examples with recurring and pervasive MOT advisories in the past showing corrosion to sills, subframes, arches or jacking points. One recent advisory if addressed promptly and properly need not be of concern. But many, if not the majority of examples nowadays unfortunately show recurring unaddressed advisories for corrosion. Encouragingly however, this example has none.
Supplied with a new advisory free MOT expiring 20th of September 2027 it now boasts a run of three annual MOT’s with no advisories.
Mechanically, power and torque from the supercharged 5.0 is immense yet smooth. It is a quiet and refined wafter that can suddenly transform into something remarkably fast, with just enough engine notes and exhaust burble to reward those lucky enough to be in the driver’s seat. The gearbox is smooth and the air suspension works quickly and as desired in arrival mode, normal ride height and off road height.
This is without a doubt one of the best, and indeed one of the most desirable examples available today.
